SC Farm Report on Wednesday
Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: No comparisons made on Steers and
Heifers due to limited comparable sales, Bulls 2.50 higher. Feeder Steers:
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 287.50-300.00; 500-600 lbs none reported.
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 1 head 420 lbs 302.50; 500-
600 lbs none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none
reported; 500-600 lbs none reported. Slaughter cows were unevenly steady
based on limited comparable sales. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean
none reported; Boners 80-85% lean 138.00-143.00; Lean 85-90% lean 124.00-
143.00; Lean Low Dressing 105.00. Slaughter bulls were 3.00 higher based
on limited comparable sales. Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1570-1785
lbs 159.00-169.00; High Dressing 1690 lbs 171.00; Low Dressing none reported.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 1055-1080 lbs Young Age Cow with calf
under 150 lbs 1850.00-1900.00 per pair, 905-1045 lbs Young to Middle Age Cow
with calf 150-300 lbs 1725.00-1925.00 per pair.
Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs 61.72. Sows live price
300-450 lbs 61.94; 450-500 lbs 66.11; 500-550 lbs 68.47.
SC Grain on Wednesday: New Crop Corn was 2 to 3 cents higher; elevator bids
4.22-5.12, processor bids 4.33-4.58. New Crop Soybeans were 2 cents lower;
elevator bids 9.81-10.06, processor bids 10.61, and export 10.71. Wheat bids
were 2 to 9 cents higher; elevator bids 4.03-4.59.
Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.75
higher at 67.12.
